About Polyphenon E
The highly characterized catechins in Polyphenon E are extracted from green tea leaves through a proprietary process. Catechins found in green tea have been shown to halt oxidative damage to cells and appear to have other disease-fighting properties. Animal studies have shown that the compound shrinks tumors in certain cancers.
The primary catechin in Polyphenon E, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), has been shown to affect many processes in the body related to abnormal cellular activity that can lead to cancer. Preclinical studies indicate that the catechins present in Polyphenon E may have multiple methods of action. In addition, there is research suggesting that the combination of catechins in Polyphenon E may have synergies that offer advantages over EGCG alone.
