Yasuyuki Abe
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Abe was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mitsui Norin Co., Ltd., based in Tokyo, Japan in October 2006. Prior to that appointment he served with Mitsui Norin’s parent company Mitsui & Co. Ltd., in positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, Mr. Abe acted as
Senior Vice President and General Manager in the Food Division based in New York, NY. Before that, he served in management positions at US-based companies. Mr. Abe began his career with Mitsui & Co., Ltd. after graduating from Keio University in Tokyo, Japan.
Stig Ogata
Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President
Mr. Ogata brings to Polyphenon Pharma more than 17 years of pharmaceutical industry experience with an emphasis on operations. He comes to Polyphenon Pharma from Astellas US, LLC where he served as Assistant Director of Corporate Planning and, prior to that, as Assistant Director of Business Development. Before joining Astellas, Mr. Ogata spent more than 14 years with Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., serving in both Japan and the United States in a series of increasingly responsible roles. During his tenure at Yamanouchi, Mr. Ogata was instrumental in the launch of its U.S. subsidiary, Yamanouchi Pharma America, Inc., and was directly involved in key business development, brand marketing and licensing relations activities. Mr. Ogata was also responsible for the coordination of merger and transition initiatives for North America. Mr. Ogata holds an MBA in pharmaceutical studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ, and a BS in biology with distinction from Kenyon College in Gambier, OH.
Andrew Munro
Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs
Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Munro practiced law as a partner in Slone & Munro, a Halifax, Nova Scotia based law firm. He has served in management and director roles with Epitome Pharmaceuticals Limited, Epitome Analgesics, Inc., and Origin BioMedicinals, Inc., all Canadian companies. Mr. Munro has practiced law in national law firms in the U.S. - Wilmer Hale & Dorr (Washington DC) - and Canada - McInnes Cooper & Robertson (Halifax). Following graduation from the University of Virginia School of Law, Mr. Munro clerked at the U.S. District Court, Eastern District. He earned his B.A. from Columbia College in New York City, NY.
